The Princess of Wales has been tipped to avoid a royal tour with Prince William due to “extreme stress”, according to a royal commentator, despite the Prince and Princess of Wales travelling abroad with their family.

The family are reportedly spending the half term in the Caribbean with Catherine’s mother, Carole Middleton.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams exclusively told GB News that Catherine is unlikely to plan a royal tour while she recovers from cancer.

He said: “A tour abroad would be so tremendously stressful for her with the knowledge the world is watching.”

The Princess of Wales announced she would be stepping back from royal duties in March last year following her cancer diagnosis.

Catherine rarely stepped out in public in 2024 as she underwent preventative chemotherapy treatment.

In a boost to her health, the mother-of-three announced she had completed her treatment in an emotional video posted to her social media in September.

Kensington Palace and the princess stressed that Catherine would make a gradual return to royal duties, prioritising her health and family.

Following a visit to the hospital where she received treatment, the Princess of Wales revealed she was in remission from cancer and would continue her staggered return.

William and Catherine’s trip clashed with the Bafta Film Award ceremony, where Prince William serves as the President.

The royal couple first attended the event together in 2017, with their debut followed by annual appearances at the British event.

The pair attended the event in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

The Prince and Princess of Wales last attended the Baftas together in 2023, with William attending alone last year.

Princess Catherine’s attendance in 2024 was ruled out as the mother-of-three was recovering from abdominal surgery.

The Prince of Wales made a virtual appearance in a video package during Sunday’s awards ceremony.
