The Princess of Wales has shared a touching new photo of herself, taken by her youngest son, Prince Louis, in honour of World Cancer Day on Tuesday.

In the candid snapshot, Catherine, 43, could be seen smiling warmly at the camera as she stood on a tree trunk in a wintry woodland and frost-covered fern.

The personal touch of the image is made even more special by the fact that it was taken by Prince Louis, giving fans a rare glimpse of the six-year-old royal’s skills behind the lens.

“Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. C #WorldCancerDay,” the message read. This was also accompanied by a second image, which was taken in Windsor, but by the Princess.

The photo was shared across Prince William and Catherine’s social media platforms, accompanied by a heartfelt message reflecting the significance of World Cancer Day and raising awareness for those affected by cancer.

Catherine’s close bond with her children has always been evident, and this new photo serves as another sweet reminder of their family’s deep connection.

The pictures come shortly after Catherine expressed her gratitude to her medical teams during the unannounced visit to Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea last month.

Catherine had described the visit as “incredibly poignant” later sharing her relief in a social media message that she is now in remission.

The Princess said: “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal.

“I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.”

She also thanked the Royal Marsden for its “exceptional” care and for “looking after me so well”.

“My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for me,” the Princess added.

It had not been previously disclosed that Catherine, who underwent chemotherapy last year, was treated at the Marsden – a world-leading state-of-the art cancer centre known for its pioneering research.

The Princess has also become joint patron of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, alongside her husband, the Prince of Wales, who had previously been the hospital’s president since 2007.
