Royal commentator Charlene White has noted a shift in the presentation style of the Prince and Princess of Wales, suggesting that William and Catherine may be emulating the more relaxed and intimate approach often seen from Harry and Meghan.

Speaking on the Talking Royal podcast, White pointed out the couple’s increased physical closeness during their recent visit to Wales, reminiscent of the openly affectionate behaviour displayed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the Invictus Games.

Royal expert Lizzie Robinson, who joined William and Catherine on their Welsh trip, commented on this change, highlighting their hand-holding captured in images shared on social media: “They posted these images on their social media of Catherine and William going to the train station, and they were holding hands.”

She also mentioned the personal nature of recent social media posts, including those for Valentine’s Day and a heartfelt birthday message from Prince William to Catherine, indicating a move towards sharing more of their personal lives with the public.

Charlene concurred, observing that William and Catherine’s new openness appears to reflect a more “Americanised” way of presenting the Royal family, a method that seems to have worked well for Harry and Meghan, making it understandable why the Cambridges might adopt a similar approach.

Lizzie remarked: “Ever since [Harry and Meghan] got together, holding hands, being very tactile, being very soppy with each other, we’ve seen a lot of that and that’s well, for an American market, it may not always play out so well here, but it does well in the American market.”, reports the Express.

Charlene added: “So maybe they [William and Catherine] are just following their footsteps, realising actually that …as lovers of the royal family, we like to see that.”

Commentator Lizzie noted the change in the Princess of Wales following a challenging year, stating: “The princess has spoken about how she has a new sort of view of the world,” and pointed out, “and how important loved ones are and family are.”

She speculated: “Perhaps she has decided that actually showing off that side is important to her.”
