Despite being active parents to their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the Prince and Princess of Wales face the same parenting difficulties as families around the globe. Through sports like football, rugby, and tennis, Prince William and Princess Catherine, who are well-known for their love of sports, have cultivated this enthusiasm in their kids.

However, their oldest child, Prince George, has a particular pastime that has presented a big parenting challenge that many parents can identify with. His parents are attempting to inculcate “normal values” into him. William and Catherine closely monitor how their son spends his time and have set rules around his hobby.

Prince William, who recently remarked on an emotional reminder of his mother, Princess Diana, disclosed George’s gaming addiction during a 2022 visit to BAFTA headquarters. He acknowledged how difficult it is to control the young prince’s screen time while playing video games.

At the moment it’s trying to regulate the gaming… monitoring screen time. Got to be careful of that,” he said. “They’re fascinated by it. George particularly. He’s more interested in it. The other two are a bit too small at the moment but they love the films. I adore film and gaming as well,” reports the Mirror.

According to reports, Catherine and William forbade their kids from using iPads from a young age and instead promoted imaginative play and outdoor pursuits. “They’re very much seen as Mummy and Daddy’s toys, not for children,” an anonymous source close to the couple revealed in a 2018 Us Weekly article, according to the Irish Star.

Having grown up without gadgets themselves, William and Kate are strong advocates of toys, outdoor play, and fostering an active imagination,” the source further stated.

During a recent visit to Birley Community Pool, Prince William disclosed Prince George’s new daring pastime. George was ten years old when they took him scuba diving, and the Royal child had a great time, the Prince of Wales acknowledged.

“He was ten years old, we took him under, thinking he’d freak out, but he absolutely loved it. It’s just introduced him to the world of water,” the Prince of Wales explained.
