When Prince Louis and his royal family are out, he always takes center stage.
During the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2022, the child captured the hearts of the country by making numerous amusing faces on the balcony of Buckingham Palace and causing chaos for his mother, the Princess of Wales, during the Jubilee Pageant.
The six-year-old prince is frequently likened to his uncle, Prince Harry, who, especially as a child, enjoyed the lighter side of life. But Louis also has a lot in common with another close family member, his cousin, James, Earl of Wessex.
James, who is currently 15 years old, was not frequently photographed out and about with his royal parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, but when he was, his personality was strikingly similar to that of the young prince.
In addition to their love of mischief, the two have a sweet bond with their respective mothers, the Princess of Wales and Duchess Sophie, that is impossible to ignore.

Banter on the Balcony
Most people never have the opportunity to stand on a balcony in front of thousands of people, and Louis and James’ reactions to such a public display during Trooping the Colour were strikingly similar.
Like Louis, who chose to make a dramatic salute during Trooping the Colour precisely ten years later, James, who was five at the time, was spotted in 2013 making binoculars out of his hands.
Causing Chaos
Even though the royal duo occasionally seem to adopt their royal siblings’ composed demeanor at events, there are times when they can’t resist stirring up trouble.
While visiting Bristol Zoo’s The Wild Place Project in April 2014, James was seen attempting to put a live cricket down his father, Prince Edward.
Prince George fiercely guarded his advent candle, while Prince Louis couldn’t help but blow out his sister Princess Charlotte’s during last year’s Catherine’s Together Christmas carol service.
Audience Antics
Given the challenges of sitting in front of a crowd for a long time, it’s understandable why the boys have been tempted to add some spice in the past.
While watching the women’s weightlifting at the Commonwealth Games in 2014, James became a bit too excited. James adopted the practice of lovingly striking his father over the head with a book during the competition.
Who can forget Louis’s antics in front of the audience at the 2022 Jubilee Pageant? He once put his hand over his mother Catherine’s mouth in a cheeky gesture.
Affectionate Sons
Despite all of the chaos, Louis and James’ unique relationship with their mothers, Catherine and Sophie, cannot be overlooked.
When James was eight years old in December 2015, he was photographed at Ascot with his mother, sharing a cute moment. The picture showed a young James looking up at the Duchess as he and Sophie touched noses. James has now surpassed his father, Edward, in height!
Shortly after his tantrum at the 2022 Jubilee Pageant, Louis shared a very sweet moment with his mother, Catherine, and was spotted cuddling her face. It was so cute!
