The Kansas City Chiefs earned their ninth win of the season… just barely.

And it was all thanks to the efforts of Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal, who blocked the Denver Broncos game-winning field goal attempt with no time remaining on the clock. The ball was recovered by Joshua Williams at the Kansas City 28-yard line, officially giving the Chiefs their win.

So because of his efforts that won the team the game, Chenal thought it was the perfect time to ask Travis Kelce for something he’s always wanted: his game-worn jersey.

“I’ve been waiting for the right time,” Chenal told the Athletic. “I felt I earned it.”

And before the linebacker left the locker room, Kelce came over and gave Chenal his jersey which included the tight end’s signature and a short message.

It was a moment he would never forget.

The team rightfully gave a lot of credit to Chenal after the play, and Andy Reid promised him something too. But it’s probably not as special as the jersey.

“Leo, I’ll treat you to a cheeseburger,” Reid said in the locker room after the win.

But the head coach did give Chenal his flowers later when speaking with the media.

“Leo (Chenal) steps up and does what Leo does every week,” he told reporters. “Somewhere he makes a play. Defensively, special teams, somewhere he steps up and makes a play, and he did a great job with that.”

A cheeseburger and a Travis Kelce jersey… not a bad day for Chenal.
