The Prince of Wales paid a visit to Toxteth, Liverpool, on Thursday in order to raise awareness of the local youth support workers.

Prince William visited Cycle of Life, a non-profit cycling organization that helps young people from diverse backgrounds improve their physical and mental health as well as their employment opportunities, during his visit, which was his first outing since Prince Harry’s “monumental” legal victory.

The organization, which is led by Ibe Hayter, was founded in 2020 with the intention of providing riding sessions and classes on bicycle maintenance. Since then, its mission has expanded to include more strategies for assisting local youth, such as increasing their self-esteem.

A Warm Welcome

Prince William looked dapper in a forest green jacket, khaki sneakers, and navy chinos for the chilly outing. He was also spotted sporting a snarly beard.

Getting Stuck In

The father of three joined the Cycle of Life project to meet young participants after learning more about the work of the Kuumba Imani Millennium Center.

He jumped right in and assisted with pumping a bike wheel.

All Smiles

He later had the opportunity to meet some of the people working on the ‘OnTheGo’ project. As he watched the entrepreneurial bikes in action, he couldn’t stop smiling.

Since its founding, Cycle of Life’s programs have directly impacted about 3,850 youth.

Prince Harry settles High Court claim

Prince William’s trip to Liverpool follows his brother Harry’s triumph in the High Court. The Duke of Sussex and The Sun’s publisher came to an agreement on Wednesday. A “full and unequivocal apology” was made by News Group Newspapers for The Sun’s “serious intrusion” and for the News of the World’s private investigators’ phone hacking.

They issued a statement which read: “NGN offers a full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the serious intrusion by The Sun between 1996 and 2011 into his private life, including incidents of unlawful activities carried out by private investigators working for The Sun.”

“NGN also offers a full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the phone hacking, surveillance and misuse of private information by journalists and private investigators instructed by them at the News of the World.”

“NGN further apologises to the Duke for the impact on him of the extensive coverage and serious intrusion into his private life as well as the private life of Diana, Princess of Wales, his late mother, in particular during his younger years.”

“We acknowledge and apologise for the distress caused to the Duke, and the damage inflicted on relationships, friendships and family, and have agreed to pay him substantial damages.”

Harry’s lawsuit was initially filed in 2019.

The Duke’s uncle, Earl Charles Spencer, reacted to the news on Instagram, writing: “It takes an enormous amount of guts to take on major media organisations like this, and incredible tenacity to win against them.”
