Donald Trump disclosed specifics of his private discussion with the future King in Paris on Saturday, claiming to have had a “great talk” with the Prince of Wales.
Following the formal reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral in the French capital, Prince William, 42, met with the 78-year-old US president-elect.
The two gathered in the Salon Jaune room at the residence of the British ambassador.

In addition, Mr. Trump told the New York Post that he questioned William about the health of his father and his wife in light of their cancer diagnoses.
While the Princess of Wales finished chemotherapy in September, King Charles is still undergoing treatment while performing his public duties.
Mr Trump told the Post: “I had a great talk with the prince. And I asked him about his wife and he said she’s doing well. And I asked him about his father and his father is fighting very hard, and he loves his father and he loves his wife, so it was sad. We had a great talk for half an hour, a little more than half an hour. We had a great, great talk.”
While King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the Emir of Qatar for a state visit last week, the Princess of Wales last made an appearance in public last Friday when she hosted her yearly Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey.
Mr Trump then complimented William, adding: “He’s a good looking guy. He looked really, very handsome [on Saturday]. Some people look better in person? He looked great. He looked really nice, and I told him that.”
“Wow, what a nice group” was Mr. Trump’s first comment to reporters after the pair shook hands during the meeting.
“Good man, this one” he said, turning back and pointing to William, afterwards adding, “He’s doing a fantastic job.”
Mr. Trump responded that “it was a beautiful ceremony” and that he had warmed up after the event when William asked the president-elect if he had.
The president-elect recalled the late Queen Elizabeth II with fondness during their 40-minute meeting, which covered a variety of international topics but centered on the value of the UK-US relationship, according to Kensington Palace.

William last met Mr Trump in 2019 when the then-president made a state visit to the UK.
Prince Albert of Monaco, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, and King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium were among the European royals who attended the ceremony alongside the Prince of Wales.
