You will be surprised to hear how much income the Prince and Princess of Wales make!

Many believe that the Princess of Wales revitalized the royal family, just as her mother-in-law Lady Diana once did. It brought her new popularity, but also confidence that the family would continue and the monarchy would survive.

Does the Princess of Wales get an adequate “salary” for the fantastic work she does?

When the British royal family published the annual Integral report of the Duchy of Cornwall, the financial statements of Prince William and Princess Catherine were also revealed.

From March 2023 to March 2024, their Duchy earned around £23.6 million which is more than $30 million.

So, even though Princess Catherine and Prince William don’t receive actual salaries for their royal roles, the Duchy of Cornwall pays all their expenses.

So, as the Prince of Wales, William can use this money to fund “public, charitable and private activities” as well as his family.

While the value of the properties, movable and immovable, remains unknown to the public, it is estimated that the Princess of Wales is “worth” about 10 million dollars, while her husband, William, 100 million, reports the Telegraph.

Royal Family Members Salaries

Charles reportedly pays the other senior royals out of the funds he receives from the Duchy of Lancaster, per BBC. So, his plans to “slim down” the monarchy after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, could save tax-payer funds and lessen his personal financial load.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex

Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle received the majority of their paychecks from Elizabeth via the Duchy of Lancaster. After stepping away from the royal family in 2020, the pair set off to find financial independence and no longer receive funding from the royal family.

Princess Anne

The royal, who is Charles’ sister, got on the payroll back in 1971; since then, she’s earned roughly $21.1 million, Us reported. Considering she does over 500 royal engagements a year, it’s money well spent by the monarchy.

Prince Andrew

Before the disgraced royal stepped down from his official duties in 2019, it was estimated that he made about 250,000 pounds per year, or $327,275, BBC reported. However, being stripped of his responsibilities would have put an end to his royal salary.
