William and Kate outshine US-based Harry and Meghan in raising millions from American donors for charity

As the Princess of Wales continues her courageous battle with cancer, she and Prince William can find solace in the growing success of their charitable work. The Royal Foundation, which they have led together since 2019, has seen a remarkable increase in donations, far surpassing the financial support garnered by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation.

Recent accounts published by the Charity Commission reveal that the Royal Foundation’s income hit an impressive £8 million, with £6.5 million of that coming directly from donations. Notably, £1.7 million of these donations came from American supporters, demonstrating the widespread appeal and trust in William and Kate’s philanthropic initiatives. This financial success is particularly significant considering the foundation no longer administers The Earthshot Prize, which became a separate charity in 2022.

In stark contrast, the Archewell Foundation, founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their departure from royal duties, saw a dramatic decline in donations. According to their most recent accounts, Archewell’s donations dropped from £10.3 million to less than £1.6 million. Despite being based in California, the couple has struggled to maintain the same level of financial support as their UK-based counterparts.

This disparity in charitable success highlights the continued influence and effectiveness of the Royal Foundation under William and Kate’s leadership. While Harry and Meghan have faced challenges in securing donor confidence, William and Kate have consistently demonstrated their ability to mobilize substantial resources for their causes.

Even though Prince Harry no longer actively participates in the Royal Foundation, he still benefits from it due to his share in the income from the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. Last year, this amounted to £7,073, which was directed to Sentebale, Harry’s charity for African orphans.

As William and Kate’s charitable endeavors continue to thrive, their ability to raise significant funds underscores their ongoing commitment to making a positive impact. Despite personal challenges, their leadership in philanthropy remains unmatched, setting a high standard in the royal family’s charitable efforts.
