Despite a challenging year for their family, the Prince and Princess of Wales are undoubtedly looking forward to spending some time with their kids during the holiday season.
It is expected that Prince William and Catherine will join the King and Queen at Sandringham on Christmas Day, as the Waleses customarily celebrate in Norfolk.
The couple will remain at their country home, Anmer Hall, with their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6.
On Christmas Day, the family typically walks with Charles and Camilla to the service at St. Mary Magdalene Church on the estate.
The King’s nieces and nephews, Zara Tindall, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, and Peter Phillips, along with their families, are frequently considered extended family members.
As she walked alongside her ex-husband, the Duke of York, last year, Sarah, Duchess of York, the King’s former sister-in-law, became a member for the first time in decades.
Festive countdown
In the days leading up to Christmas, the Princess of Wales is anticipated to make two significant public appearances.
First, Catherine and William will greet the Emir of Qatar on Tuesday as part of the state visit’s ceremonial daytime components.
However, she will be unable to attend the glitzy state dinner held at Buckingham Palace in the evening.
Additionally, the Princess will host her yearly Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, December 6.
As she recovers from cancer, Catherine is gradually returning to her royal responsibilities. Two months after undergoing major abdominal surgery in January, the Princess received the diagnosis.
Amidst rare home footage of the Waleses spending time together in Norfolk, the royal mother-of-three revealed in a heartfelt video message that she had finished chemotherapy.
