The WNBA has officially entered its hype era, and at the center of the latest frenzy is none other than Sophie Cunningham. In a matter of hours, her Indiana Fever jersey vanished from online stores, leaving fans scrambling to get their hands on one.

The real shock? Cunningham’s jersey sold out before Caitlin Clark’s, sending the internet into an absolute meltdown.

The Jersey Frenzy: Sold Out in Minutes!

Fans eager to snag Cunningham’s Fever gear quickly found themselves staring at the dreaded “SOLD OUT” tag. Small? Gone. Medium? Gone. Large? Forget about it. Even 2XL was wiped off the shelves in record time.

The demand for Cunningham’s jersey wasn’t just unexpected—it was historic. This isn’t just about a simple merch drop; it’s a statement. While other players’ jerseys remained available, Cunningham’s disappeared like a Black Friday deal gone wrong.

Was this a sign of Sophie’s rising star power? A carefully executed marketing move? Or the undeniable impact of Caitlin Clark bringing unprecedented attention to the WNBA?

The Caitlin Clark Effect: A Rising Tide Lifts All Ships

Ever since Caitlin Clark’s arrival in the WNBA, the Fever have transformed into the most-watched, most-discussed, and most-marketed team in the league. Attendance is skyrocketing, ticket sales are booming, and now, jersey sales are hitting historic highs.

Clark’s influence extends beyond herself—her presence is elevating teammates like Cunningham to a whole new level of popularity. It’s a ripple effect that has Fever fans flocking to merchandise stores like never before.

Sophie Cunningham isn’t new to the WNBA, but her move to Indiana has put her directly in the spotlight. Known for her gritty, hard-nosed play and fearless attitude, Cunningham fits perfectly into the Fever’s new identity: young, aggressive, and hungry to win.

Cunningham’s Competitive Fire: “You Haven’t Seen Feisty Yet”

Cunningham made one thing clear in her first press conference with the Fever: she’s not here to make friends. She’s here to win.

“I feel like my spark is back,” she said with a smirk. “Everyone thinks I’ve been feisty? You haven’t even seen The Feisty side of me yet.”

That’s the energy Indiana fans love. Cunningham’s hard-nosed style—diving for loose balls, playing with relentless intensity, and never backing down from a challenge—has made her a fan favorite overnight.

Her move to Indiana feels like a rebirth, as she described it:

“It’s like I’m a rookie all over again.”

This attitude, combined with Clark’s transcendent talent, is setting the stage for one of the most exciting WNBA seasons in history.

Indiana’s New Era: A League-Wide Wake-Up Call

For years, the Indiana Fever were an afterthought. But now? They’re the hottest ticket in town.

Preseason games are selling out in minutes. Merchandise is flying off the shelves. Fans who had never watched a WNBA game before are suddenly die-hard Fever supporters.

Meanwhile, other teams are left wondering: What just happened?

Indiana has officially become the center of the WNBA universe, and Cunningham’s jersey selling out is just another sign of the league’s new reality.

While some players might be frustrated seeing Fever jerseys dominate the market, the truth is undeniable: the Fever have become the must-watch team of the season.

Angel Reese Sends Three-Word Message After Unfortunate Injury News

Chicago Sky star Angel Reese reasserted her place as one of women’s basketball’s best players after her Unrivaled campaign. The 22-year-old won the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award for Rose BC and also leads it with 12.1 rebounds per game.

This comes on the heels of an All-Star WNBA rookie season in which she topped the league with 13.1 boards a night. Reese was a major reason why the Rose (8-6) are in the Unrivaled championship against the Vinyl (5-9) on Monday night.

Still, Reese supported her teammates via X. Ahead of the championship game, Unrivaled’s DPOY posted a three-word message for Rose BC.

“COME ON ROSEBUDSSSSS,” the 2024 WNBA All-Rookie honoree tweeted.

With Kahleah Copper (leg) also out, the Rose are deploying Brittney Sykes, Chelsea Gray, and Azura Stevens in their starting lineup, with Lexie Hull and Naz Hillmon as reserves.

Meanwhile, the Vinyl are starting Rhyne Howard, Dearica Hamby, and Jordan Canada, with Aliyah Boston and Rae Burrell off the bench.

Reese ranked sixth in Unrivaled with a team-high eight blocked shots this season while also totaling eight double-doubles. Additionally, the 2024 SEC Player of the Year had the first 20-20 game in league history on Feb. 21, notching 22 points (10-19 FG, 0-1 3 PT) with 21 rebounds in a 73-62 win over the Lunar Owls.

Reese will now focus on rehabbing for the WNBA season. The Sky will play their first game against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on May 17.
